Through The Lens of John Dessarzin

Posted on 16. Jul, 2011 by in Inspirations, Photography

I was born in Lausanne in the late 1940s, Switzerland. After earning a Master’s of Arts degree from L’ECOLE D’OUCHY DE LAUSANNE, I studied at Switzerland’s renowned L’Ecole De Photographie de Vevey. Afterwards, I worked with several master photographers in Europe and the United States, concentrating on fashion, photojournalism, advertising, corporate, architecture, nature and fauna flora photography.

I have lived for the past 7 years in the mountains of Atenas Central Valley. I am fully equipped with the latest digital equipment. I create many type of art work with different digital cameras. My new passion in photography is Scanning, Aerial, Pin hole,Infrared, and of course the iPhone.

My camera grants passage into beauty, into suffering, into hope and success. Viewing through my lens, I capture soaring grace and the startling and stunning discoveries that await us where nature, animals and people intersect. The art of photography can be an almost a painterly process: Technique is important but impact depends solely on a heightened sensibility. The source of my originality is the ability to balance what I see and harmonize each element into a concert of equal but separate voices. The end result is spontaneous, often focusing on dawn and twilight, when natural sunlight has a metallic, almost surreal glow and I capture the diaphanous elements of the sky, man made structures, people, flora and fauna and the landscape which surrounds us.

Stunning. These photos take by breath away. One can feel the passion in every photo. John D. ‘s characterizations of how his camera “grants passage” to give him a unique view of things in life and his explanation of how he comes by his originality are equally passionate. It is like every photo is palpible — I literally can FEEL texture in every one of them. Amazing – a feast for the eyes. Thank you for the visual pleasure.

Gorgeous work. My Atlanta friend introduced me to your site. I can’t pick a favorite from these. You are multi-talented and creative. I did especially like the cat and the leaves and waterfall. Please keep me on your list for more photos. Lynne

    Incredible images John!

My favourites are the Turrialba Volcano shot and the leaves on the lake image. Both are very expressive. John, you need to come to Ontario and capture some of the finest shots nature has to offer! Keep making those great compositions.

Fabulous work! LOVE them all but my fave is the Lamu Kenya clouds/palm tree scene. Incredible depth/3D effect. So talented. I’m a friend of Stef Powers and she passed this along to me and now I will be passing it on as well. Good luck!!!
